There has been much speculation about whether Iran and North Korea are allies, given their shared history of proliferation and their mutual animosity towards the United States. Although there is no formal alliance between the two countries, they do have a strategic partnership that has been beneficial to both countries.<\/p>\n

There is no definitive answer to this question as it is constantly evolving. However, at present, it appears that Iran and North Korea are not formal allies, but they do have a strong relationship built on common interests.<\/p>\n

Who are North Korea’s allies? <\/h2>\n

China and North Korea have a close and special relationship. China is North Korea’s closest ally and the two countries have a mutual aid and co-operation treaty. This treaty is currently the only defense treaty either country has with any nation.<\/p>\n

The two countries have maintained a normal relationship despite South Korea’s close relationship with the United States, and Iran’s close relationship with North Korea (making Iran one of the few countries in the world which maintains good relations with both North Korea and South Korea).<\/p>\n
