Since the 1950s, the U.S. has unsuccessfully tried to stop North Korea from developing nuclear weapons. In 2017, North Korea’s nuclear program is more advanced than ever, and the U.S. is running out of options. So, what can the U.S. do to North Korea?

One option is to increase economic sanctions. Sanctions have already been successful in slowing North Korea’s economy, and more sanctions could put more pressure on the government. However, sanctions alone are not likely to stop North Korea from developing nuclear weapons.

Another option is to negotiate with North Korea. The U.S. has done this in the past, but negotiations have always failed. North Korea is not likely to agree to give up its nuclear weapons program, so negotiations may not be successful.

The last option is military action. This is the most controversial option, and it would be very risky. The U.S. could launch a military strike against North Korea’s nuclear facilities, but this could lead to a full-scale war. North Korea has a large army and a lot of weapons, so a war could be devastating.
