Are U.S. troops in North Korea? The question has been asked by many people in recent years. The answer is not as simple as one may think. In fact, the answer is, “No,” with a caveat.

As of now, no U.S. troops are allowed to enter North Korea. The 1953 armistice that ended the Korean War declared the DMZ, or demilitarized zone, as a no-man’s land separating the South and North. Since that time, the United States has maintained a strictly non-aggressive policy towards North Korea, which has kept all U.S. troops from being stationed in the country.

However, it is important to note that the U.S. military does keep a small number of troops in South Korea, though they are not located in North Korea itself. This presence is largely symbolic, as the United States has maintained a presence in South Korea since the Korean War. The purpose of these troops is to deter North Korean aggression, and also to provide support to South Korean forces in the event of war.
